Man Charged with Disturbing the Peace, Vagrancy

Albert Henry Guzman, 23, was arrested Tuesday and charged with disturbance of the peace and vagrancy in connection with an incident that occurred on the St. John Ferry on Monday.

According to the V.I. Police Department, Guzman had been identified by a witness as the individual who was harassing and disturbing the peace of a minor on the St. John Ferry and the VITRAN public bus.

According to the preliminary investigation, Guzman invited the minor to play video games at his house and continued to speak to the minor even though he was being ignored. Several citizens observed Guzman’s behavior, the police were told. Seeing the minor had no knowledge of who Guzman was, the citizens removed him from the bus.

Guzman was charged with disturbance of the peace and vagrancy, with bail set at $1,000. Unable to post bail, Guzman was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections. The case is under investigation.
