Disability Rights Center, Partners to Hold Ridership Summit

The Disability Rights Center of the Virgin Islands in collaboration with its partners, the Virgin Islands Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and the Virgin Islands Developmental Disabilities Council, along with the V.I. State Rehabilitation Council will host a Ridership Summit territory-wide to educate the general public about the legal rights to accessible transit in the V.I.
This presentation will provide information to the ridership about their rights and responsibilities. Participants will have an opportunity to give their suggestions on how to improve the Transit System. They will also have an opportunity to join or serve on an advisory committee. There will be an opportunity to hear from both local and federal representatives that are engaged with the needs of individuals with disabilities. These events are scheduled for:
St. Croix: Monday, May 16, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Cardiac Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
St. Thomas: Wednesday, May 18, at Sugar Estate Head Start Building from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
St. John: Thursday, May 19, at Legislature Conference Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
