Shooting Leaves One Man in Critical Condition

 A man was critically injured Wednesday evening when gunshots were fired at the John F. Kennedy apartments, according to the V.I. Police Department

The police reported that at about 6 p.m. Wednesday officers from the Ancilmo Marshall C Command Zone in Christiansted were dispatched to a report of shots fired.

At the scene, officers found a large crowd surrounding an unidentified black man who had sustained multiple gun shots to the body. He was transported to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment. As of Thursday afternoon he remained in critical but stable condition. 

The officers secured the scene of the shooting and the forensic unit and Criminal investigation Bureau canvassed the area for information.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Chief’s office at 340-778-2211, the Criminal Investigations Bureau at 340-712-6092, the 911 emergency call center or the anonymous tip service,  Crime Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-8477.
