V.I. Graduate Returns to Share Naval Academy Experience

Virgin Islanders will learn about career opportunities in the United States Naval Academy (USNA) during Thanksgiving week across the territory. A former public school success, Midshipman Kobe A. Sutton, will share his military academy experience at forums and informal meetings with students, parents and educators. He will discuss the USNA experience and admissions process as part of an outreach program called Operation Information.

On St. Thomas, presentations will be Monday, Nov. 21, and on St. Croix, Tuesday, Nov. 22. In addition, he will appear on radio shows Nov. 23 and 24.

Kobe A. Sutton graduated in 2015 from the St. Croix Educational Complex. He was accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The midshipman joins the list of distinguished Virgin Islanders attending military academies across the U.S. He is the son of Lt. Col. Clayton Sutton of the V.I. National Guard (VING) and Lorna J. Williams-Sutton.

Midshipman Sutton has chosen to return to the territory to take part in Operation Information, which is an educational outreach program of the U.S. Naval Academy designed to share career opportunities that exist for high school graduates. Each year, academy cadets make presentations at high schools, Junior ROTC and scout groups.

For more information, contact Midshipman Kobe Sutton at M196294@usna.edu or call Mrs. Sutton at 332-0888.
