Carnival Committee Seeks Participants for Pre-J’ouvert, Photos of Former Carnival Queens, Judges for Events

V.I. Carnival 2017 J’ouvert Troupes

The V.I. Carnival Committee (VICC) requests that all organizations wishing to participate in the V.I. Carnival 2017 pre-j’ouvert contact the Carnival Committee’s office. 

This request includes those organizations that have previously participated in the pre-j’ouvert as well as those who wish to participate for the first time in Carnival 2017.  Organizations that do not contact the VICC and receive approval to participate in the pre-j’ouvert will not be allowed on the road during the pre-j’ouvert hours.

V.I. Carnival Committee Calling All Former Carnival Queens

The V.I. Carnival Committee is asking for all former VICC queens to submit their photos to be included in the 65th anniversary booklet.

Photos must be submitted by e-mail to colormaxvi@gmail.com, with the subject: Former Carnival Queen.  Along with the photo, the former queen must include: her name and the year that she won the crown. Photos should be e-mailed as soon as possible to make the submission deadline for the Carnival 2017 booklet.

Applications Available for Those Interested in Judging Carnival Events

The V.I. Carnival Committee’s Judges Sub-Committee has applications available for individuals who would like to judge Carnival 2017 events. 

Persons interested in being a judge can pick up an application at the VICC office on Krondprindsens Gade.  Applications must be returned to the office by Friday, March 17.  Only those persons who have completed and returned an application will be considered.

For additional information about participating in V.I. Carnival 2017 pre-j’ouvert, submitting photos of former Carnival Queens or becoming a judge for Carnival 2017, please call the VICC office at 776-3112.
