Bureau of Internal Revenue to Close for April 28th Installation

The excise tax offices on all three islands will be closed on Friday, April 28, according to a press release from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). The offices will be installing a new transformer at its Red Hook location, which houses all of its servers; therefore, all of the BIR’s tax systems will be offline for the entire day.

Excise taxpayers are urged to clear all shipments by Thursday, April 27. The bureau’s full operations will resume on Monday, May 1.

Taxpayers with questions or concerns should contact Glen Hodge, Supervisor of Excise Tax, at 715-1040, ext. 3201.
