V.I. Department of Health Wants Public Input on Work Plan

The Virgin Islands Department of Health (VIDOH) invites the public’s input on its work plan: the Preventive Health and Health Services (PHHS) Block Grant. Residents will have the opportunity to review the work plan and provide feedback on DOH’s proposed objectives and program activities.

The PHHS Block Grant provides federal funds to address the conditions of heart disease and stroke. It also provides funds for education and awareness activities targeting the prevention of rape and sexual assault.

The Chronic Disease Prevention Program along with the Advisory Group has developed the Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant Work Plan for fiscal year 2018. DOH, in collaboration with its partners, developed the work plan with the goal of improving the health and well-being of district residents, while addressing the requirements of the grant.

Come and join the St. Thomas-St. John District Department of Health at Schneider Regional Medical Center cafeteria (sunroom) on St. Thomas from 5:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 22.
