U.S.V.I. Junior Men Win First Game at Centrobasket Tournament, 69-61

U.S.V.I. Centrobasket U17 Team

The Virgin Islands team, the silver medal holders, opened the 2017 Centrobasket U17 Junior Men’s Tournament with a tough win over Jamaica, 69-61, Wednesday afternoon in the Dominican Republic.

Guards were the name of the game as Jaz Farrell came out firing and finished with a game high 19 points and Zion Jones added 16. Bryce Nash was close to a double with 9 points and 11 rebounds; Amir Nesbitt had an all-around performance with nine points, eight rebounds and four assists. The V.I. team shared the ball well with 15 assists on 23 field goals.

Up next: The host team and Alanzo Frink await. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday evening, July 27, and will be streamed live on youtube
