DPSR Schedules Basketball Games Across Territory for Next Two Weeks; Schedules Change

The V.I. Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation (DSPR) has arranged a series of stress-relief activities for families throughout the territory. The activities have been scheduled as follows:

St. Croix activities will be hosted for two weeks in partnership with the Department of Education and the Fire Service Department.

The Tuesday, Oct. 10th and Wednesday, Oct. 11th games have been postponed due to weather conditions.

From 1-4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 12, activities will be held at Emile “Gravy” Basketball Court in Frederiksted, Rendholt Jackson Comples in Estate Whim, Isaac Boynes Ballpark in Estate Grove Place, the Basketball Court at Aureo Diaz Height Housing Project, Pedro “Pei” Cruz Ballpark in Estate Profit and La Grande Princess Basketball Court.

From 1-4 p.m., on Friday Oct. 13, there will be organized activities at Midre Cummings in Frederiksted, Williams Delight Park, Castle Burke Basketball Court, Glynn Basketball Court, Rudy Krieger Complex in Sion Farm and D.C. Canegata Park in Christiansted.

The Following Week:

From 1-4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16 and Wednesday, Oct. 18, activities will be held at Midre Cummings Park, Williams Delight Park, Castle Burke Center, Glynn Basketball Court, Rudy Krigger Complex in Sion Farm and D.C. Canegata Complex.

From 1-4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17 and Thursday Oct. 19, games will be held at Emile “Gravy” Henderson Sr. Basketball Court, Rendholt Jackson Complex in Estate Whim, Isaac Boynes Ballpark in Estate Grove Place, Aureo Diaz Heights Housing Project Basketball Court, Pedro “Pei” Cruz Ballpark in Estate Profit and La Grande Princesse Basketball Court.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, DSPR will be at Renholdt Jackson Complex in the district of the west, in the central district at Pedro “Pei” Cruz Ball Park in Estate Profit and the D.C. Canegata Park.

Snacks will be provided Monday through Thursday; there will be burgers, hotdogs and drinks on Friday.

St. Thomas will host activities over the Oct. 14-15 weekend, at Alvin McBean Complex in Estate Tutu, Winston Raymo Center in Hospital Ground and Emile Griffith Ballpark in Charlotte Amalie.

St. John will host an island fun day from 2:30-5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Winston Wells Ballpark, Cruz Bay.

Snacks will be provided.
