Police Seek Four ‘Persons of Interest’ in Coliseum Cockpit Double Homicide

The V.I. Police Department are looking for four persons of interest in the St. Croix, Coliseum Cockpit double homicide that took place Saturday in Estate Glynn.

The police have set up a hotline for anyone with information to call in on. The numbers are 340-778 2211 extension 6126 or extension 6092.

Police identified the four as:

– Ivan James, 34-years-old, height 5 feet, 9 inches, weight 180 pounds, resides in Frederiksted.

– Jamal J. Young, 37-year-old, height 5 feet, 10inches, weight 200 pounds, resides in Frederiksted.

– Elijah Jackson, 38-year-old, height 5 feet, 9 inches, weight 140 to 150 pounds, resides in Frederiksted.

– Malachi Benjamin: 23-year-old height, 6 feet, 3 inches, weight 190 pounds, resides in Frederiksted.

Police urged anyone who comes in contact with any of these men or knows their whereabouts to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211, Crime Stoppers VI or 911.

The police reported that at about 3:49 p.m. Saturday the 911 call center received a report of a shooting at the Coliseum Cockpit. At the scene, officers discovered a unresponsive Hispanic male. A second victim had been transported by private vehicle.

The victims both succumbed to their injuries. They were identified by next of kin as 32-year old Luis Colon and 46-year-old Jacobo Garcia.

Preliminary investigation determined that both victims had been shot inside the Cockpit, and that there was more than one assailant.
