EAST Holds Three Whale Watching Events

Environmental Association of St. Thomas-St. John (EAST) will hold a whale watching on three Sundays: Feb. 26, March 4 and March 11. The pick-up location will be the National Park dock in Red Hook (please car pool); the pick-up time will be 8:30 a.m.
Humpback whales are one of the most incredible marine mammals on earth, so EAST invites the public to join it in understanding, appreciating and protecting them. Eco-guides will be on board the Spirit of St. Christopher to educate participants about whales and the other sea life that may be encountered during sailing.
However, there is no guarantee that whales will be spotted, but it is highly probable for this time of the year. Participants will take a short snorkeling swim at some point in the day, so feel free to bring gear, but if not, it will be provided at no additional cost.  And this year, a light lunch, soft drinks and water will be included in the price of admission.  There is limited shade on board, so bring sunscreen and a hat; binoculars are helpful. The cost is $55 for members and $65 for non-members.
Ticket Locations: Dockside Bookstore, East End Secretarial and Connections on St. John or visit : <http://www.islandtimetours.net/> for payment on line and visit EAST at  www.eastvi.org for more information or how to become a member today.
