UVI School of Nursing Collaborates to Hold Meetings on Aging Research

The University of the Virgin Islands School of Nursing, Caribbean Exploratory Research Center of Excellence (CERCE) is collaborating with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute on Aging (NIA) to host the Directors Regional Meeting on Aging and Health Disparities Research.
The two-day meeting is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 7 and April 8. The meetings will be held concurrently on the St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses. The Croix campus is video conference viewing only.  Admission is free. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on existing opportunities for research and training, provide hands on technical assistance in grant writing, solicit advice on the design of new research opportunities, and gain strategies for recruiting underrepresented students and investigators to aging research.
Those who should attend this meeting include health science professionals; students within a health science research institution with an interest in beginning or strengthening their expertise on aging research and/or portfolio; anyone with an interest in issues dealing with aging.
