V.I. Office of Veterans Affairs Announces Homecoming Events

 The Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs has announced plans to celebrate welcome home events for returning troops to the territory. The special events provide an important opportunity to honor U.S. military service members and provide helpful information about benefits and programs available to them.
“Honoring those who served is a moral obligation; these welcome home events provide the opportunity for Virgin Islanders to show appreciation to service members and their families for their sacrifice in defending our freedom and values,” said Morris Moorhead, director of the Office of Veterans Affairs.
The welcome home event on St. Thomas will take place on Sept. 29 at the Leonard B. Francis Armory Readiness Center. The St. Croix event is set for Oct. 6 in the Canegata Multipurpose Recreation Center, 3000 LBJ Gardens, in Christiansted.
The schedule of activities at both events will be as follows:
8 a.m. Opening Ceremony
