Suspected St. John Man Arrested for Assault

Jeffery James, age 53, was arrested on assault charges at about 8:45 p.m. Monday, a Police Department press release issued Tuesday indicates.

Police said the suspect hit his brother with a rock while they were near an Estate Grunwald residence. His bail was set at $25,000 and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.

Police Department spokesman Melody Rames said the arrest report does not indicate where James was arrested; however, Grunwald is a St. John neighborhood.
