MOLTOBENE unsportsmanlike yachting behaviour - is this the honour of sailing??

Racing yacht damages Girls boat and runs away to St Thomas.........

Sound familiar?
Whilst the all girl crew of girlsforsail.com were racing in
the St Maarten regatta, another yacht MOLTBENE caused an incident where the
girls boat was seriously damaged - it was very lucky noone was hurt. Since
the incident, the owner Richard Ewing has avoided coming forward even
though his yacht was DISQUALIFIED by the international committee of judges
under rule 18.2(b).
What should the girls do now???
The yacht ran away from St Martin and is currently now racing in St
Thomas. CAN THIS BE RIGHT?
CAN THIS BE FAIR
CAN THIS BE SPORTSMANLY?????
We do not think so.
The coastguard, immigration and the police are all involved but
interestingly, there is confusion as to which area of law owns the problem

Do you have a view or advice for these ladies??

More importantly, if you see MOTOBENE...what would you say to this
American gentleman?

Sounds like the actions of a coward.
First, there should be a petition to bar MOTOBENE from any Caribbean racing venue until the issue is settled. That only requires a firm commitment of race committees in setting a deterrent for this type of situation ever happening again. No legal action necessary to implement this action.
Secondly, since the ruling of the race committee was that MOTOBENE was in the wrong, liability issues dictate that a lien be filed in the domicile of the vessel. i.e., if MOTOBENE is a US registered vessel, a petition to a US court for damages and costs should be filed, or charges of leaving the scene of an accident that caused damage. There I am not sure why the reluctance for authorities to pursue
