From his appearance on Wall Street last month to this week's visit to the territory, Indian Consul General Prabhu Dayal has been making the rounds in hopes of strengthening India's relationship with America.

With the "Governor's Summer Reading Challenge" wrapping up, Gov. deJongh reminded young readers to get the recognition they deserve.

This week The Source launches The Road To College, a new series designed to help young people and their parents with different aspects of preparing for college.

The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Division of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Beach Water Quality Monitoring Program, which evaluates weekly water quality at 43 popular swimming beaches throughout the territory, advises the public of the following:  

Virgin Islands National Park has installed eight new barbeque grills and five new picnic tables at Francis and Lameshur Bays. Five tables and three grills were installed at Francis Bay; three tables and two grills were installed at Lameshur.

The Taste of the Caribbean Competition, sponsored by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association, is just weeks away, and the VI Culinary Team is sharpening knives and polishing skills in anticipation of an award-winning showing.

V.I. National Guard Capt. Clayton A. Sutton became Maj. Clayton A. Sutton Thursday at the Armory on St. Thomas.
