The 10th Virgin Islands Nonpoint Source Pollution Conference will be held May 6-7, at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa in Estate Smith Bay.

The V.I. Resource Conservation & Development Council Inc. (V.I. RC&D) is seeking 9 or 10 Virgin Islands’ high school students between the ages of 15-18 to attend the 2010 Natural Resources Conservation Workshop, to be held June 13-17, at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia.

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands has announced that through the generosity of the residents of the Virgin Islands, it has collected more than $115,000 for the Haitian Relief Fund. 

The Friends of Virgin Islands National Park announces its annual scholarship program is again being offered to Virgin Islanders at the university level studying in fields related to marine biology or natural resource management and protection. 

The St. Thomas Hibiscus Society Inc. will hold a membership meeting on Sunday, March 7, and its general membership meeting on Sunday, March 14.

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) has announced the availability of 2010-2011 school year scholarship applications to the public.  CFVI’s scholarships are aimed at helping students defray the costs of their college education, and it has added three new scholarships to their list this year:

The St. Thomas-St. John Friends of Denmark Society will participate with their sister organization in Denmark, the Friends of the Danish West Indies, in a student exchange program. 

In its ongoing efforts to curb gun crime and gang violence in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Project Safe Neighborhoods(PSN) is promoting “Speak Your Peace 2,” which challenges students from across the territory to create, voice and submit a message denouncing violence with the spoken word. 

The Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Organization is now accepting applicants for the 2010 Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Pageant from ambitious and talented women who are committed to education.
