CHILD-CARE FACILITIES MUST BE LICENSED

Private and parochial schools that serve children under age 5 must be licensed by the Human Services Department, Commissioner Sedonie Halbert has reminded the public.
The Education Department certifies schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The penalty for operating an unlicensed facility carries a penalty of three months in jail, a $1,000 fine or both.
For information call Human Services' licensing and regulatory services unit at 774-0930.
