GOVERNOR PROCLAIMS MAY MENTAL HEALTH MONTH

The month of May has been proclaimed "Mental Health Month" in the Virgin Islands by Governor Charles W. Turnbull.
The governor has said that there is a serious need to provide adequate and equitable health care coverage for mental disorders. Mental illness is the most prevalent health problem in America today – more common than cancer, lung and heart diseases combined.
All residents, businesses, agencies and civic organizations need to become better educated on the subject of mental health.
