MVA HIRED TO TAPE SINBAD

Mountain Video Associates is at it again. The firm has been hired by E! (Entertainment Television, the national cable TV network) to tape behind the scenes at the Sinbad Music Festival.
Frank Hurt, owner/manager of Mountain Video, says this is just one of many times his work in the Virgin Islands has been on national TV networks.
"When the stakes are high and expectations of quality are high, Mountain Video is the one they call," says Hurt.
Over the past 20 years, his company and its producer, Christine Lauterborn, have worked with Good Morning America, Walter Cronkite, Phil Donahue, ESPN and NBA Inside Stuff, to name just a few.
Last year, CBS Sports hired them to tape part of a show featuring basketball great Tim Duncan's family in St. Croix. The V.I. tourism public relations company, Martin PR, won three international travel marketing awards in 1997 using Mountain Video's work.
Locals may best remember Mountain Video for its Telly Award winning program "Island Insight," which ran on St. Thomas Cable TV for 10 years before Hurt canceled it after Hurricane Marilyn.
MVA's newest tourist-oriented program, Resort TV, developed in conjunction with Triangle Productions, runs at Sapphire Beach Resort.
Mountain Video is currently working on a music video for Jam Band, and is developing a pilot program for the Travel Channel about the cruise ship industry. Among other work that locals will recognize is the Wiesner
Development ad that's been running on Channel 8 for several years, and the numerous V.I. Lottery ads that MVA produced last year.
"The video business and its technology is rapidly evolving, and Mountain Video has adapted by providing a wider range of services than ever before," Hurt said. "Two of these areas are DVD authoring and video on the Internet."

The air date for E!'s Sinbad program has yet to be determined, but Hurt expects it will be close to the time of Sinbad's pay-per-view show.
