LEAGUE SEEKS ANALYSIS ON PROSSER BILL

The League of Women Voters wants the governor to have an independent cost analysis done on the "Prosser bill" before he takes any final action on it.
In a letter to Gov. Charles W. Turnbull, league president Erva Denham said, "The people of the territory were provided a mere 14 hours of legislative debate before a vote was taken."
Denham said the league expects the governor to inform the electorate of his position after the analysis is done and before taking action.
Denham cautioned, "Too often in the past, the government and the people of the Virgin Islands have regretted and have sometimes paid in cash, for action taken too hastily under the pressures of "now or never."
