"SOUL MUSIC FESTIVAL WEEK" PROCLAIMED BY GOVERNOR

The week of May 24-31, has been proclaimed by Gov. Charles W. Turnbull as "Soul Music Festival Week" to highlight the production of the Sinbad Show in the Virgin Islands.
Commissioners and agency heads have been authorized to grant administrative leave from 4 to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 28, to non-essential employees in the District of St. Thomas/St. John to encourage participation in the Sinbad Show.
Workers are excused to reduce traffic congestion in the Lionel Roberts Stadium area.
"It is an opportunity for Virgin islanders to play the role of goodwill ambassadors for the territory," the governor said.
The leave shall not apply to essential employees, employees on a regular or rotating shift, and employees on annual or sick leave.
