TURNBULL NOMINATES THREE TO GERS BOARD

Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has nominated three new members of the Government Employees Retirement System — John de Jongh Jr. and Carver Farrow of St. Thomas and George A. Farrelly of St. Croix.
If confirmed, they would serve three-year terms. De Jongh would replace Lincoln L. Oliver; Farrow, Eleanor Josiah; and Farrelly, Norman L. Johansen.
De Jongh is president and CEO of the Lockhart Caribbean Corp. and president of the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands.
A former Finance commissioner, de Jongh has extensive experience in banking and financial management. He is a graduate of Antioch College in Ohio.
Farrow is principal of the Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School. He holds master's degrees in adult education, educational leadership and supervision and curriculum. He was nominated from a list of candidates submitted by the Central Labor Council.
Farrelly, a former Police commissioner, is owner/CEO of GAF Security and Consultant Services Inc.
