BCB SUMMER READING ASSIGNMENTS ANNOUNCED

Bertha B. Boschulte Middle School has assigned summer reading projects to all students planning to attend the school for the 1999-2000 school year.
Seventh graders have to read the book "The Friends," and eighth graders are assigned "Lottery Rose." Both are available at Dockside Bookshop in Havensight Mall.
Both seventh and eighth graders are required to maintain a daily reading log, each page of which should contain the name of the book read, the dates, pages read and a short summary commenting on any aspect of the day's reading.
Sixth grade students should read "Heads or Tails: Stories From the Sixth Grade," also available at Dockside.
After reading the book, students must write a four or five sentence paragraph to summarize each of the eight stories in the book. Students should also pick their favorite story, explaining in a short paragraph why they like the story. They also must make a poster to illustrate the main point of their favorite story.
In preparation for the coming school year, seventh and eighth grade students must purchase a grammar $15 workbook and bring it to school the first week of classes.
In addition to BCB's regular summer school, the school is offering an enrichment program open to grades 4 and up. It will include reading, writing and math skills and computer literary lessons. For additional information call 775-4987.
