TURNBULL SENDS BOARDWALK CZM PERMIT TO SENATE

The Coastal Zone Management permit for the Christiansted boardwalk extension has been signed by Gov. Charles Turnbull and forwarded to the V.I. Legislature for its approval.
In a statement Wednesday, Turnbull said he was pleased to forward the permit because the project is part of his administration's effort to advance capital improvement projects for St. Croix.
The permit will allow for a crossing to be built over the drainage swale adjacent to the former Chart House restaurant. The crossing will terminate at the western most boundary of the National Park Service property, the statement said.
The project will continue west and end at King Cross Street. Light posts, paved brick and benches will be installed along the boardwalk, the statement said.
