REEF RANGERS HONORED BY SENATE

The Reef Rangers youth environmental organization was honored by the Senate Wednesday with a resolution sponsored by Sen. Adlah "Foncie" Donastorg.
The resolutions commends the group, which was formed in 1997, for its work in environmental education, research and activism.
"The work of these students is so important," Donastorg said. "Children must learn the value of our natural and cultural resources at an early age. They will carry this knowledge and sense of concern with them for the rest of their lives.
"It is my sincere hope that the next generation will do a better job protecting these islands," he said.
The Reef Ranger have previously received national awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Busch Gardens.
