No cause has been given for the death of a crew member on board the Carnival Destiny cruise ship while in port on St. Thomas. Accountant Eduardo Ortero was found dead Monday, but no information has been released about the circumstances of the discovery.
West Indian Co. Ltd. spokesman Calvin Wheatley said Monday afternoon that arrangements are being made for shipment of the body to Colombia, Ortero's home country.
WICO officials could not say whether police are investigating the crew member's death, though police investigators and forensics agents responded to the dock when the death was reported Monday afternoon.
