EXPLORER CALLS EARLY; VOYAGER IN WEDNESDAY

St. Thomas received an unusual visit Tuesday from the Explorer of the Seas, the new mega-ship operated by Royal Caribbean International. The ship, which calls every Wednesday on St. Thomas, called a day early to make way for its sister ship, Voyager of the Seas, which is on a special charter this week and will stop at St. Thomas on Wednesday.
West Indian Co. Ltd. spokesman Calvin Wheatley said the Micro Strategy company has chartered the Voyager of the Seas for a seven-day cruise that began in Miami with stops in San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Nassau before returning to Miami.
The ship will pull into the WICO dock at 7 a.m. Wednesday and will leave around 6 p.m., Wheatley said.
