BALLPARK TO BE BRIGHT SPOT FOR FATHER'S DAY

May 21, 2001 – New energy-efficient lighting is being installed in the Joseph Aubain Ballpark and will be ready for use during the annual Father's Day festivities in Frenchtown.
According to Ira Hobson, commissioner of the Housing, Parks and Recreation Department, General Engineering Corp. has been contracted to do the work, as well as similar lighting projects scheduled at Emile Griffith Ballpark and at the Charlotte Amalie High School athletic field.
The projects have been funded through the V.I. Energy Office.
Hobson had announced on May 4 that six St. Croix ballparks would be closed through July 22 for the installation of such lighting.
