FRANCHISE TAXES DUE

June 9, 2001 – Franchise tax payments and annual reports from all V.I. corporations are due by June 30.
Lt. Gov. Gerard Luz James, who has oversight for the Division of Corporation and Trademarks, issued a friendly reminder this week.
"It is important that every corporation maintain its good standing by filing these reports by the required deadline, otherwise they would be subject to penalty and interest payments," James said in a written statement.
The rate of the tax is based on the amount of capital stock used in conducting the business of a given corporation.
