SOME DADS ARE INVOLVED, DESPITE OBSTACLES

Dear Source,
As the Daughter of Vietnam Vet Ira J. Ottley, I must say that my dad did try to be there for me– despite my mom's unwillingness to allow me to see him and spend time with him.
While your statistics are the norm for society, there are a few of us kids that do grow up and become somebody despite our mothers' ignorance in not allowing a man to help raise his child.
Consequently, I became successful business woman who is now pursuing her law degree in Entertainment Law. I empower you to keep up the good work with Charlotte Amalie High School youth.
Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.
Michelle Ottley
Brooklyn, NY
