PINK PAPAYA ANNIVERSARY SHOW TO OPEN FRIDAY

Nov. 12, 2001 – Pink Papaya is "making 14" in poetic mode:
Come celebrate our 14th year
with original art and holiday cheer!
Toast with us for the spirit of the U.S.A.
Enjoy the beauty of art the V.I. way.

Co-owners M. Lisa Etre and Kate Campbell are celebrating the anniversary on Friday, and, in keeping with tradition, the Lemon Tree Mall gallery and gift shop is mounting an exhibition of new original artwork that will open with a reception open to the public that evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
Featured artists this year in addition to Etre (who'll be showing acrylics) are Kimberly Boulon (pastels), Ursula Trudeau (oils), Diane Kwiecien (ceramics), Mary Dufur (quilted wall hangings), Louie Gizen (moko jumbie sculptures) and Capt. Julie (metal and
glass sculpture).
The anniversary festivities will be combined with a kickoff of the holiday season, as Pink Payaya unveils a series of themed Christmas trees. Etre, whose artwork is reproduced on many accessories and gift items in the shop, is introducing a collection of hand-painted tree ornaments that she will personalize for purchasers at the reception.
Adding to the party ambience, there will be live music and refreshments in the courtyard outside the shop.
Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The show will hang through the month of December. For more information call 693-8535.
