FOUNTAINS HOLD HELP FOR TERROR VICTIMS

Coins tossed in two fountains at the Divi Carina Bay Casino may or may not have helped their owners win, but the spare change did make a difference at a recent government-sponsored telethon to help the victims of the Sept. 11. terrorist attacks.
The "Fountain of Hope" campaign at the casino generated $2,400 from the money tossed into the fountains, said Divi advertising manager Fran Geocaris. The coin total, which actually amounted to $1,200, was matched by the Divi’s management for the $2,400 total.
The funds were given to "Operation Helping Hand," a Government House-sponsored telethon that ran on Nov. 17. The telethon benefited the victims and families of victims of the World Trade Center and Pentagon terrorist attacks. The telethon raised about $24,000.
