Dear Source,
I was reading the April 13th issue of the St. Thomas Source and was quite saddened by the fact that an issue is being made as a result of the Office of Management and Budget holding up $20,000 in funds for a Magens Bay sewage system. (See Source story, OMB holds up funds for Magens sewage system).
I am not against the fact that the Magens Bay infrastructure needs improvements, but the fact that the mention of 10,000 people visiting the beach on a weekly basis should make one investigate what is being done with the entrance fee of each person, whether tourist or local islander, who visits the beach daily.
If in fact there are 10,000 people visiting with such frequency, given a period of less than one month, minus any regular operating expenses, that project can be paid for out of the revenues collected on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Someone needs to do the math.
