EDUCATION BUDGET HEARING CALLED OFF

June 18, 2002 – Sen. Alicia "Chucky" Hansen called off Tuesday's Finance Committee meeting on St. Thomas so as to allow the Legislature's Post Audit Division time to complete an analysis of a contract between the government and Metropolitan Life Insurance.
The committee was scheduled to hold a hearing on the Fiscal Year 2003 budget for the Education Department.
Hansen, who chairs the committee, said Senate President Almando "Rocky" Liburd directed her to have the insurance contract ready by Friday, when it is to come before the full Senate.
