MEETINGS SET FOR NEW UVI DEGREE APPLICANTS

June 19, 2002 – Meetings for potential applicants for the new Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology, announced Monday by UVI, are scheduled this week.
On St. Thomas the meeting is at 10 a.m. Thursday in room T-216 on campus. The St. Croix campus meeting will be held in Evans Center room 703 at 10 a.m. Friday.
The 67-credit, part-time program will be offered in the upcoming fall semester. It is designed for V.I. residents who are already working as teachers, administrators, psychologists and therapists. It will cover a full range of content and skills in such professional school psychology areas as assessment, intervention, research, evaluation, consultation and professional development, and graduation from the program will result in local and national certification.
Applicants must have earned a bachelor's degree with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5, and a course in tests and measurements is a pre-requisite.
