FRENCH CONNECT IN FLORIDA FOR BASTILLE DAY

July 10, 2002 – Bastille Day connects French people all over the world, and in Florida there's a Florida French Connection Club that connects Virgin Islanders of French descent who live all over the United States and in the Virgin Islands.
The Club is holding a 10th anniversary get-together from July 12-14 in Merritt Island, Fla. The celebration is spearheaded by Rosemarie Danet Correa.
The nonprofit group is composed of individuals and families of both French descent and Virgin Islanders who reside throughout the United States and in the Virgin Islands as well. It was formed on a Sunday in April 1993 by a group of people who wanted to preserve the rich cultural heritage and to extend the "warm friendly island spirits" to each other, said a release from the Club. The group has grown to approximately 250 family memberships.
Anyone with a true love for the islands is invited. In the Virgin Islands call 340-776-3564. In Florida call Giselle Richardson at 321-459-0719.
