SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED SUNDAY

July 13, 2002 – A tropical wave is expected to pass south of the U.S. Virgin Islands on Sunday, possibly bringing some scattered showers and thunderstorms.
"It's not going to be a major deal," said Dan Gregoria, a forecaster at the National Weather Service in San Juan.
He said the wave is moving rapidly at 17 mph and should be out of the area by late Sunday afternoon.
Gregoria said residents should look for more moisture in the area as hurricane season heads toward its peak in mid-September.
