FOREIGN SERVICE WRITTEN EXAM COMING UP

July 22, 2002 – Applications are due by Aug. 5, 2002, for the Foreign Service Written Examination to be held Sept. 21. Registration can be completed online.
Foreign Service officers serve as front-line personnel in the U.S. embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions, said a release from the office of Delegate to Congress Donna M. Christensen. "Officers advocate American foreign policy, protect American citizens, and promote American business interest throughout the world. They are devoted to strengthening peace, stability, and prosperity."
Eligible applicants must be between ages 20 and 59, a citizen of the United States, and available for worldwide assignment, including assignments in Washington, D.C.
Online registration should be completed at www.careers.state.gov
Applications may also be obtained from the Virgin Islands offices of Delegate Christensen. The St. Thomas Congressional office is located in Nisky Center and the telephone number is 774-4408. The St. Croix office is located in the Sunny Isle Shopping Center and the telephone number is 778-5900.
