LABOR HAS RFPS FOR YOUTH TRAINING AVAILABLE

July 26, 2002 – V.I. businesses that are interested in taking advantage of the V.I. Labor Department's youth training programs are alerted to the 2002 RFP schedule for youth services.
Request for Proposal (RFP) applications for Workforce Investment Act Youth Providers for program year 2002 are available to the public at the Labor Department. Between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. RFP packages may be obtained at the St. Thomas Division of Training, 53-54 Kronprindens Gade on St. Thomas, and St. Croix Division of Training, at 16AB Church Street, Christiansted.

Scheduled activities regarding the process, according to a release, are:
–Aug. 6, Bidder's conference, St. Croix
–Aug. 8, Bidder's conference, St. Thomas
–Aug. 23, Deadline to submit proposals to the Labor Department.
–Aug. 26-30, Labor Dept. information verification process
–Sept. 9, Youth Council review
–Sept. 16, Notification of award to bidders
–Sept. 30-Oct. 7, Negotiation process
–Oct. 28, Targeted start date of programs.
