FORM OF NAME, POSITION ON BALLOT SET BY AUG. 21

Aug. 12, 2002 – The Election System of the Virgin Islands has issued details for two election-related events taking place on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002.
Aug. 21 is the final day for candidates whose names contain more than 22 letters to indicated the shortened form of name they prefer, so long as it includes the surname in full. After 5 p.m. this day, the Supervisor of Elections shall make the necessary determination as prescribed by Section 501 of the Elections Laws of the Virgin Islands, according to a release.
At 10 a.m. on Aug. 21, in the Election System offices on the islands of St. Croix and St. Thomas, the casting of lots for candidates will be held. This includes candidates for the positions of V.I. Delegate to Congress, Legislature of the Virgin Islands, the Board of Elections and party members of the Democratic Party.
