DO-IT-YOURSELFERS CAN GET RID OF USED OIL

There will be a special used motor oil collection on St. Croix from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Sunny Isles Shopping Center. In addition to this special opportunity to get rid of that accumulation of old oil from your last oil change in the yard, there'll be educational literature and entertainment.
Because this event is chiefly aimed at do-it-yourselfers, DPNR's Environmental Enforcement Division and Public Works will accept a maximum of five gallons per person.
Only used motor oil is acceptable, and it must be in cleaned plastic containers (such as gallon milk or water plastic jugs) that have never contained bleaches, detergents, car or household chemicals.
For more information, check out the Source front page article at "Used motor oil collection set on 3 islands" or contact Clanicia Pelle in the Environmental Protection Division on St. Croix at 773-1082.
