RED CROSS TO TRAIN DISASTER VOLUNTEERS IN JULY

July 3, 2003 — The American Red Cross is holding training throughout the month of July for its Disaster Services volunteers. The training session topics are: Introduction to Disaster, Mass Care Shelter Operations, Logistics, Damage Assessment, and Liaison.
Introduction to Disaster will be held on Monday, July 7, and Wednesday, July 9, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Small Business Development Center on the second floor in the Nisky Center.
The same course will also be taught on Saturday, July 12 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the MSI Lumber board room in Crown Bay.
The Mass Care Shelter Operations training will be held on Saturday, July 19, at the MSI Board Room from 8 a.m. to noon; Logistics training will be from 1 to 5 p.m. the same day.
On Saturday, July 26, Damage Assessment training will be offered at MSI from 8 a.m. to noon, followed by Liaison training from 1 to 5 p.m.
