GLADFELTER TO SPEAK ON SOUTHGATE RESERVE

SEA and the V.I. Marine Advisory Service at the University of the Virgin Islands will sponsor a presentation by Dr. Elizabeth Gladfelter, formerly head of the West Indies Laboratory on St. Croix, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6. "Southgate Pond — A Haven for Birds" is free and open to the public in Room 501 of the Melvin Evans Center on the UVI campus. Gladfelter will discuss ongoing, yearlong research that continues at the SEA Nature Reserve, where 113 bird species have been recorded over the years.
