TEACHERS TO STUDY HOW CHILDREN LEARN MATH

Aug. 2, 2003 — The St. Croix Federation of Teachers, AFT Local 1826, will provide a full day of professional development training on Friday, Aug. 15, and a half day on Saturday, Aug. 16.
All teachers assigned to kindergarten through sixth grade classes and paraprofessionals may register by calling the federation office at 778-4414 or Sharon Jackson at the V.I. Education Department's Curriculum Center at 778-1600 by Friday, Aug. 8.
The training sessions will focus on research about how children learn mathematics and how the research findings can be applied in the classroom, said a release.
