THROGMORTON RETURNS TO SAPPHIRE IN SALES

August 11, 2003 – Sapphire Beach Resort and Marina has a new sales director in the form of an old friend. Louri Lynn Throgmorton, whose relationship with Sapphire stretches back to 1991 when she was the company's guest services director, has returned, this time assuming the title of Director of Sales, according to a release.
Ms. Throgmorton brings with her to Sapphire more than a decade of experience in V.I. resort management, sales and marketing, having held similar titles at Wydham Sugar Bay Resort and Spa, and Point Pleasant Resort.
According to a statement from Hayworth Creative Advertising and Public Relations, Throgmorton hopes to use her abundant experience to boost Sapphire's sales and occupancy levels, and also to develop group and incentive packages for guests.
"I'm excited to return to Sapphire Beach and take on the challenge of this position," Throgmorton stated in the release, adding, "I first served…here in 1991, but the property has improved immensely, and I plan to put that to good use in our overall marketing and sales strateties."
With 171 suites and a host of offerings including a wide range of all-inclusive family packages, scuba-diving and adventure vacations, wedding specials and meeting facilities, Sapphire will certainly provide Throgmorton with a healthy set of tools with which to apply her expertise.
In addition to her resort experience, Throgmorton also worked in the marketing departments of Caribbean Treasures, a Washington company, and Atlantis Submarines of St. Thomas.
A native Kentuckian, Ms. Throgmorton resides on St. Thomas with her husband and stepson.
