The governor has again demonstrated either a total lack of understanding of the problem or a level of corruption that Royal Schneider could only aspire to. Rather than address the problem of waste, corruption and abuse of power, he has decided to lay recovery efforts on the taxpayers. California is in the midst of a recall election which on the face of it seems to be based on the majority not liking Gov. Davis' politics, whereas we in the USVI are blithely going on in the face of blatant corruption and malfeasance. Something is wrong here.
Even the delegate has proposed an independent financial officer to control spending and the governor announces that "we are capable of governing ourselves" while demonstrating again and again that we/he is not! In earlier times and other countries there have been revolutions for less. What a bunch of sheep we are. Lambs to the slaughter ….. God help us.
