CHAMBER GETS READY TO GOLF

Nov. 25, 2003 – The "Million Dollar Shoot-Out", the annual golf tournament fundraiser held by the St. Thomas-St. John Chamber of Commerce, will tee-off Sunday, Dec. 7, at Mahogany Run for the eleventh straight year, and the chamber has announced that it is still seeking a few sponsors for the event.
The shotgun-start, four-man scramble begins at an 8 a.m. continental breakfast where participants will start the day out right with a load of golfer goodies given by A.H. Riise, Rolex and FirstBank. After that, teams will head out onto the course for the 9 a.m. tee-time, where they will be competing not only for honor and company, but for an amazing list of booty put up by local merchants.
In addition to the five $20,000 long-shot carrots held out by the chamber to anyone who can sink their tee-shot on one of the course's par 3's, there will be a raffle with more than 40 fabulous prizes ranging from mini-vacations at Caneel Bay, to a cruise-vacation for two. And one musn't forget the million-dollar annuity C.E. Braithwaite&Associates and Guardian Insurance are making available to the winner of a closest-to-the-hole contest.
The list of event-sponsors is a lengthy who's-who of the territory's commercial community, but the chamber is still looking for a few good guys and gals to take the tournament up another notch.
Anyone interested in participating in the event as a sponsor should contact the chamber as soon as possible by calling them at 776-0010.
