SONNY MIR TO MANAGE RITZ-CARLETON CLUB

Nov. 25, 2003 – The exclusive Ritz-Carlton Club-St. Thomas team welcomed its newest member, Sonny Mir, who has recently taken over general management responsibilities at the club.
Mir, comes to the Ritz-Carleton with a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in the hotel trade. Most recently Mir worked with the Marriot hotel group where he served as the director of operations for their Dallas properties. Prior to that, Mir held a series of management positions in Sheraton hotels and resorts throughout the southwest.
Jamie Holmes, general manager of the just-next-door Ritz-Carlton Hotel is looking forward to working with Mir, stating in a release that he is, "Pleased to have someone of Sonny's experience and professionalism join the Ritz-Carleton Club. He understands our intense commitment to assisting Members at an unsurpassed service level, and will no doubt serve as a tremendous leader in this regard."
Mir is a native of Bangladesh but was raised for the most part in England, where he received a degree from the University of Northampton. From there he moved on to the United States, where he took another degree from the Baptist Christian College in Shreveport, Louisianna.
At the Ritz-Carlton Club, the members-only sister to the Ritz-Carlton hotels, Mir will oversee daily resort operations ranging from food and beverage duties to front office management, as well as seeing to the needs of members and their guests.
