The Christiansted Retail Association is holding a holiday "Jump Up" beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 28, and is dedicating the event the Bethlehem Sugar Factory Restoration Project.
President of the CRRA, and owner of the St. Croix Guidebook and Map, Julia Renfro, issued a release stating that the theme of the Friday's "Jump Up" will be, "Our Past is Our Future". Renfro stressed the importance of the restoration project to the island and its tourism, stating that Christiansted, "Owes its very existence to the sugar cane industry and…our heritage and agricultural tourism is what can set us apart from other islands."
The CRRA encourages everybody in the community to participate in the project. Those who wish to can donate money, materials and time to the restoration effort.
